The Village contracts with Republic Waste Services for weekly refuse collection. The normal collection day is Wednesday. Trash should be at the curbside by 7am. Use the 95-gallon cart provided by Republic to place garbage in. If you have more garbage than what can be placed in this cart, please place it next to the cart, so the driver can unload the cart and then place the extra bags in the cart to empty into the truck.
Place bulk items out on the regular collection day (Wednesday). The regular driver will note the location of these bulk items for pickup by another truck on Thursday or Friday. Appliances containing refrigerants (freon) such as freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers must have a tag showing freon removal by a certified technician before collection.
The following items are not included in weekly refuse pickup: construction and demolition debris, dead animals, hazardous materials, animal stable refuse, liquids, televisions, microwave ovens, computer monitors and compostable yard waste.
If the following holiday falls on the Wednesday collection day or on a Monday or Tuesday the collection day will be delayed until Thursday: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Fees for garbage pick-up are charged to Village residents on their monthly sewer and water bill.
The village does not provide pick-up for yard wastes. Residents may contract with Republic Waste individually for yard waste service by calling 1-800-589-9139.
